Bio

Mary Jane Lundy a full time studio ceramic artist graduated from the NSCAD University in 2003 with a BFA major in Ceramics. In the fall of 2010 Crescent Clay moved into a newly built cottage studio that has a beautiful view of Dutchman’s Cove beside her home. She is a clay sculptor/artist who works in slab building construction. She uses man made forms like molds to create land and sea nature. Her use of layering bright color glazes on clay surfaces creates depth and texture. Her whimsical sculptures of birds, nests, fish, mermaids, waterfountains can be placed either in the home or garden.

Description of artist's work

A clay sculptor, works with NS Lantz red earthenware clay; she is inspired by the sea life found in the Maritime waters of the Atlantic Ocean, and the birds and plant life that inhabit its shoreline.
