of the Halifax Art Map (2009)
The 2009 edition of the Halifax Art Map will
be published in May of 2008, with an anticipated print run
of 25,000 up from 22,000 copies last year and 20,000 the
year before. It will again be a professional, attractive,
full-colour production that will offer a limited number of
artisan/artist/gallery listings. All listings will be keyed
to a locator map and included on our web site. Ad spaces
are also offered to galleries and other art-related businesses.
Included with the artist’s listing is a free web site/email
link and update of your current profile. For an additional
$25, you can add an expanded profile to the Halifax
Art Map web site. The web site may be found at www.halifaxartmap.com. Check
it out!
Once again this year FRED will be hosting the Art Map Launch
and juried Exhibition, which will run from April 26, 2009
until June 21, 2009. The opening will be Friday, May 1. More
details will be available closer to the exhibition date.
IIf you are renewing your listing,
please provide us with the application information by January
31, 2009.
If you are applying for the first time,
please know that a listing includes your contact information,
a short artist’s profile or statement, a full colour image
of one of your works and your position noted on a locator
map and on our web site. Selection of new artists is by a
juried process. We would like to receive your application
by February 15, 2009, in order for
you to be considered for the Map.

Submission requirements:
Please complete the accompanying application form and for
first time applicants please enclose a bio or C.V. and return
to the above address.
Please also submit three (3) high quality images in one
of the following formats:
Preferred: Digital files submitted
on CD OR e-mail jpg files to halifaxartmap@hotmail.com
ideally
saved to a resolution of 300 dpi at an image size
of
3 inches. File size should be no less than 2.5MB.
Acceptable: 35mm slides or photographic prints
(max. 8" x 10") Scanning charges maybe applied
