She finds beauty, a sense of place, timelessness and quietude in the familiar. 
ProfileRoxanne Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University. Her art work is in the collection of the Canada Council Art Bank, the Nova Scotia Art Bank, the collection of Mount St. Vincent University Art Gallery, and private collections in Canada and the United States. She has been the recipient of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Nova Scotia Department of Culture and Tourism. She has exhibited her art work in solo and group exhibitions in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Toronto. Smith has been a member of ViewPoint Gallery since 2004. While usually photographing landscape, in these images Smith is exploring intimate spaces, through the subject of still life. This work is about finding beauty in what surrounds us everyday, things we may overlook because they are so very familiar.
