Extended Profile
Joy Pennick began her career as an Art Conservator, working with collections from Museums, Art Galleries & Archaeological Trusts. A fascination with metal artifacts led her to pursue a second degree in Jewellery Arts at NSCAD (BFA Jewellery, 1991)
JOY PENNICK JEWELLERY & METALWORKS was established in 1991, with a strong Wholesale & Retail base in the Maritimes & Ontario. Since the beginning, Joy has participated in The Atlantic Craft Trade Shows, NSDCC Craft Markets, Studio Rally & Halifax Art Map projects!
Joy’s Production & Designer Jewellery collections celebrate surface patterning, vibrant colour & flowing line: handcrafted in sterling silver, nu-gold, niobium & ‘blended’ metal alloys, with the addition of semi-precious stone & pearls.
Joy’s Designer Collection includes jewellery
(rings, pendants, chain & earrings) as well as spoons & decorative objects, intended for Gallery settings.
Joy has participated in a number of exhibitions (locally & nationally), has enjoyed a number of Gallery Feature Exhibitions and has received 2 grants from the Canada Council.
